NEWS
NO CHILD SOLDIERS project was founded by Madeka for the AIKAH association in order to increase public awareness of the terrible existance of child soldiers all over the world. This album brings African artists together; among the most well-known: Alpha Blondy, Angélique Kidjo, Mama Keita, Lokua Kanza, Bibie, Ben Okafor, Monique Séka, Charlotte M"Bango, Aïcha Koné & Madéka joined in to perform the title track "BEMAMOU".
NO CHILD SOLDIERS also includes the participation of Salif Keita, Corneille, Tété, Rokia Traoré, Extra Bokaya, Youssou N’Dour & Geoffrey Oryema. Because the talent and popularity of these artists are so great, they represent a formidable vector of information and action to help fight against the exploitation of child soldiers.
PROJECT OBJECTIVES:
- Raising awareness, inform the greatest number of the existence of child soldiers.
- Finance, through album sales, programs carried out by organisations in the field to demobilize, rehabilitate and reintegrate child war victims.
- Ensure the project's duration.
NO CHILD SOLDIERS project in collaboration with the French action group against the use of child soldiers.
The action group allows the AÏKAH association to ensure that all funds raised will be sent to local organizations, and to ensure that measures taken for child soldiers are verified. We thank all project participants for their involvement and generosity and the artists, who volunteered for the title BEMAMOU and those who gave permission to freely use one of their titles. We also thank Harmonia Mundi, distributor of the album, which has decided to give its full distribution profits to the association, and through which the album is available at all usual outlets (itunes, FNAC, Virgin, Auchan, Carrefour, Harmonia Mundi...)
